I recently creating a jukebox out of an old PC. I will have a 5.1 Surround system which is pretty loud. Will the loud pounding of the music affect the PC's hard drive or any other PC parts in general?
Both the PC and received are going to be less then 2 ft away from each other.

Different from other people answered, and based on my many years of electronic expertize, my answer is YES, it can, and in time it will cause damage.
Several parts in your PC is somehow sensible to temperature and vibration.
There are some components with chemical inside, capacitors. If you vibrate a capacitor, more than expected by the manufacturer, it may change the chemicals, migrate it, and damage it. The effect is the same as over-voltage or over-temperature. The excessive sound vibration will create stress in the electronic semiconductor microchips, it may cause premature mortality and damage.
One thing to keep in mind is that your hearing system, inside your head is much more sensible than all the electronics. Your "jukebox" can be replaced, your hearing system doesn’t.
It is somehow nice to hear loud music, but it is not healthy. If you are young you are not aware of it, and you may think you will live forever, your body parts will never fail. That is untrue.
For every second you are exposed for air pressure (loud sounds) above 80dB, you are reducing your good hearing 10 seconds backwards from the end of your life. Think about it.
A good loud music runs for 3 minutes. That is 180 seconds. That is 30 minutes or hearing loss at the end of your life. If you enjoy 5 loud songs a day for one year, it means 38 years of the end of your life with severe hearing problems.
I hope you’ll enjoy wearing hearing aids when old.
Turn down your music, and keep enjoying hearing good songs for the rest of your life.
of course not.
If you have a good harddrive, then no, it won’t
No lol
great idea dude im gna try and do something simular myself that is a genious idea the sound should not effect the computers
No.
It’ll be fine.
Yep it could but not necessarily the hard drive although it is a moving part.
Vibration is extremely hard on a PC especially the seated components. Too much vibration in close proximity can damage any PC system.
Not to mention that the powerful magnets inside speakers can damage your PC,. Your best bet if you need to have it there is to properly shield the PC or at least keep it a few feet away from the speakers. Try to put something in between the speakers and the tower and if possible put some styrofoam or other vibration absorbing material under your PC case.
Chances are it will be fine but there is some potential for damage.
