When singing in rock band online, can the other players online hear me?

We have rockband at my apartment and i want to play online/sing, but I don't want people to be able to hear me. Does anyone know if they can?
* I'm not using a headset, just the microphone that comes with rockband. When we were in the lobby before the song started, i got a message saying "Yes, I can hear you", so I backed out before the song started. Just curious as to whether or not they can hear me when I'm singing.

The ONLY time they will hear you when you sing or talk is if you are in a Party Chat with a headset or if in the game you press the LT or RT buttons. You’ll know as on the singbar you’ll see a ‘sound’ icon appear.
On youtube, look up Rock Band and warrengonline. So, you should be safe. IF you do not sing good, trust me, after the laughs have settled. "MUTE YOU MIC" will be requested.
