I think the amplification part is whats messed up..but im not sure where to get another?

I will have a 5.1 Surround system which is pretty loud. Will the loud pounding of the music affect the PC's hard drive or any other PC parts in general?
Both the PC and received are going to be less then 2 ft away from each other.

I don't know where to go to get more clues. I have looked in all the rooms, and I found this thing on a wall where there are two black circles, and this meter with gray bars on two sides, then a green thing in the middle. There's a lever above it that makes a red circle move. Is that important? I need help! Oh, and on the top floor, there's one of Ms. Loveday's doors, and next to that is this blue machine thingy. I can only change the first symbol.

It goes along the lines of something like, "I know you're thinking about me and it scares me to death" and then I think there's another part that says "Bite my tongue, close my eyes and hold my breath".
Hopefully somebody knows what I'm talking about, since I can't find it anywhere! Thanks!

How?
My whole family is into music, but the thing is that we have our entire music collection scattered on all of the computers. We're working on putting them all on the old one (it has an 80 gb hard drive and windows xp, I just needed a laptop), but we want to be able to listen to music that's on the computer through our home network. It would basically be like sharing a drive, but only part of it. I went to best buy to see what can be done and to get something else nonrelated to this and the guy there said it's built into windows xp to be able to do that. I looked in the help and support section, but it's not working on any of our computers. we have file and printer sharing enabled and the songs show up as files in windows explorer, but won't play in any jukebox programs (Windows Media Player, etc.). Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the answers.
